Otylia Jalgori-Tobu
Otylia Roasmund Silkie Jalgori-Tobu is Finn’s twin and Minsterialis of Serki — the grounded institutional counterpoint to his Traveler dreams, and the sibling who most often counters his strategies. She takes up the Gath as her cause for life at fifteen and spends it getting them off Gondiar, marries Josias Aponi, raises Laurella and Dushan into a household strained by his affairs and liberation politics, and later faces family crisis when Crown forces lock down Gondiar and the Jalgori-Tobus become fugitives.
Serki and family role
As a Uranic ministerial figure, Otylia administers Serki within the Jalgori-Tobu client structure that rules Gondiar’s humans for the Celestials. Where Finn chafes at privilege-without- freedom, she works the system: land, crew, marriages, and stability. Childhood memories of livestone play with Finn at the palace park underline that both twins can interface with Celestial materials; Otylia turns that inheritance toward governance rather than heists.
When Diligent colonists take Hafnir land, she suggests the Gath refit the arkship as original crew leave for settlement — a practical decision that keeps the Diligent viable for Finn’s later campaigns.
Marriage to Josias and later crisis
Otylia marries Josias, binding Diligent politics into the marchional family. They have children (Laurella later dates Aljan, son of Terence Wilson-Fletcher). Josias’s Regal Democrat career, affairs, and liberation rhetoric strain the household’s public face even before open war with the Dominion.
During the navy lockdown and post-broadcast crackdown, Otylia flees with siblings and children — sheltering at Terence’s villa, then escaping on the Polkadav to rendezvous with the returning Diligent. She is the voice who tells Finn how badly Gondiar has collapsed and that Terence believes Toše assassinated archon Makaio-Faraji. Her arc is less swashbuckling than Finn’s but central to the human cost of client-aristocracy under Celestial hardliners: ministerial competence cannot protect Serki or Santa Rosa once the Crown decides the family is the insurrection.
