Liliana
Liliana is a Lidon-linked mercenary whose trail stitches the novel’s heist, Traveler, Celestial, and liberation threads. She opens the book as the operator who dumps Finn Jalgori-Tobu from a plane over Anoosha after betraying his mercenary team; decades of world-time later she is still the face Terence Wilson-Fletcher matches to Gyvoy Enfoe meetings, Marcellu’s murder, and the extraction of Josias Aponi during the Gondiar strike crisis.
Quinitai mole and the opening dump
On Anoosha, Finn joins a combat team hired to strike at Quinitai politicians — one of the planet’s powerful uranic corporate houses. Liliana heads the elimination team: experienced, a few years older than Finn, and his intimate partner for the duration of the job. She is also a double agent for Quinitai Security. When the operation collapses, she traps him and chooses exile over a clean kill — bound, stripped, and thrown from a squad plane over the Camurdy Mountains, with her goons flying on rather than searching the drop zone.
Finn’s survival — emergency air-rescue module, livestone shelter, rescue by Ellie and Josias — starts the Diligent–Hafnir alliance. To his rescuers he names the betrayal as an “ex.” Liliana vanishes from that scene into the wider deniable market of Lidon freelancers, ghost-unit contracts, and archon-adjacent work. The mole job already shows the pattern the rest of the novel reuses: she sells competence and cover stories, not a cause.
Gyvoy’s network and the cherenkov blade
On Gondiar she surfaces at a financial symposium offering services to Gyvoy Enfoe. Lucia — Terence’s right-hand — tails her through criminal-network contacts. That symposium sighting becomes, decades of world-time later, one half of the facial match that closes the detective thread.
Years later, at Pana-Seak orbital city above Anoosha, Marcellu plans to track the Diligent and disable its ZPZ generator under a brief from archon Sahdiah. He hires Andino and meets Liliana. She kills him there with a cherenkov blade — her signature short powered knife. When charged, the edge dematerializes into an extreme cutting plane rather than a conventional steel bite. That charged kill is the detail Medusa later passes to Terence: not a common blade, but a Cherenkov one. The murder removes Sahdiah’s Traveler middleman at the moment the interdiction brief is closest to mattering. Sahdiah wrongly suspects Olomo and the Heresy Dominion, and tasks Marcellu’s right-hand Medusa to find a female associate who used that blade. Marcellu matters more dead than alive: the clue chain from blade to Medusa to Terence is what eventually ties Traveler crime to the Dolod catastrophe.
Guillrameo cover on Anoosha
Parallel court intrigue places her under Celestial commercial cover. When Uulana-Lyon investigates Bekket and Thyra after the Binji trial deaths, the trail leads to Uixic and to Iuntin-Detlef, senior representative of the Guillrameo network. Liliana appears beside him as a “commercial emissary on Anoosha” — the same deniable civilian identity Guillrameo uses at every level. The visit ends in a clandestine slowball ambush, the deaths of Uulana-Lyon and his sons, and a wreck discarded at Tonobo.
She thus works as muscle for both Gyvoy-facing human plots and Bekket-facing Celestial deniable work. How much she knows of Guillrameo’s substituted identities, or of the later Dagon imposture inside the Gyvoy persona, the novel never resolves from her side. She has no POV of her own; other people meet her contracts.
Gondiar crackdown and Josias extraction
Toše does the loud half of the work Liliana does quietly — sniping, bombing, heavy fire — inside the same Gyvoy network. During General Avone-Valerio’s navy lockdown of Gondiar she boards the Cybele’s Eagle under the disguise Antoinette-2burg while Toše slips Terence’s surveillance, plants an orbital-capsule bomb (killing Lucia and hundreds), and keeps the Gyvoy protection story running.
With Toše she tracks Josias into hiding with a lover, the pair claiming Gyvoy sent them as guardians — protection that is also custody. Josias’s mass strike broadcast follows under their watch. When warrants and ghost units hit the Jalgori-Tobus, Toše destroys the arriving units; retaliatory airstrikes kill the Marchioness and Everett’s wife Variaka. The trio escapes on Andino’s Arcadia’s Moon, flying under the false identity Infinite Totality.
The novel’s final beats send both the Diligent and the Arcadia’s Moon toward Capo Frois — the frontier region hardline Crown policy has been talking about annexing. Liliana remains inside that extraction lattice rather than disappearing into a separate endgame.
The face Terence matches
Terence’s late investigation pairs two images: Liliana at the old Gyvoy financial symposium, and the Cybele’s Eagle escapee. Medusa, trading from custody, supplies the other half of the murder description — cherenkov blade, female associate of Marcellu’s — and the match becomes one of the detective thread’s key closures. The same operator who dumped Finn over Anoosha is still steering events when Gondiar burns.
Across every appearance the pattern holds. She is effective, and her effectiveness advances whoever is paying in the gap between Celestial archons and human revolt: Quinitai Security on Anoosha, Gyvoy’s network on Gondiar, Guillrameo commercial cover when court heat rises, “human liberation” guardianship when Josias is useful as a broadcast voice. She is less an ideologue than a professional survivor who sells competence — and the novel never requires her to believe any of the banners she works under.

Looks and covers
The novel fixes kit more firmly than a baseline face. Hair, skin and eye colour are not stated for her natural look; the plates below keep one consistent face for the combat and civilian covers, then switch only what the text switches for the late disguise. The infobox portrait is the field kit. Her cherenkov blade is a short powered knife — high-tech, carried sheathed at the hip, not drawn.
-
Field kit Lightweight earthdragon bioware muscle outfit — “a beefed-up wrestler whose skin had been stripped away.” Cherenkov blade fully sheathed at the hip. (Infobox portrait.) -
Civilian / coquette Subdued dark far-future dress off duty; can play the coquette when a job needs it. Same baseline face; cherenkov blade fully sheathed at the hip. -
Commercial emissary Anoosha trade cover beside Guillrameo’s Iuntin-Detlef — smart high-collar commercial dress, not court finery. -
Late disguise “Much broader nose” and skin “almost albino it was so pale” — a face mask, not her natural colouring. Used on the Cybele’s Eagle under the alias Antoinette-2burg.
